Is there a compatibility difference between different brands (manufacturers) of DVD-R ???

I saw some mention of 3351P supporting DVD-R, but the DVD-R I burnt DOES NOT play good.

The 3351P recognizes the DVD, shows menues and allows playback, BUT the playback is jerky (the picture 'jumps' every few seconds). Playback on my Computer's DVD-ROM and on another DVD (standalone) Player is OK.

i have lg-dvd 3351p

we have some movies that are burnt.

and i put the movies in the dvd , on the screen the message "pbc " is seen and the movie is not working.

the dvd is molty - zon

it work very good ( outside the "pbc"

DVD-RW FAILED, LG says DISK ERROR, tried once dvdxcopy to copy movie and once pinnacle 8 to create own movie. Media Samsung DVD-RW 4.7 GB, burner Toshiba sdr5002 on both cases. Both experiences worked on PC DVD player.

My guess is a bug in the authoring. But is there a workaround to tell the player to *&^% #$$ and not display any subtitles at all ?

I have read a lot of discussions about overheating & jerks in the play back.I also faced the same problem.
Is this overheating make any permenet damage to the machine or if I keep the machine offline for some time will it be ok.
